IPAF 3A and 3B

The course is aimed at trained operators who work in higher risk or challenging environments, e.g. steelwork, work in confined overhead spaces, work on challenging terrain. PAL+ training is open to operators who hold an existing PAL Card qualification in the relevant category. PAL+ includes a short, compact theory session and focuses on practical training, using large machines such as a scissor lift with a minimum of 10m working height and a boom with a minimum of 15m working height. For example, one practical exercise focuses on work in confined overhead spaces; another practical exercise involves driving the machine on challenging terrain. Candidates have to complete a theory test, a practical test and an individual interview.

IPAF Demonstrator

The IPAF Demonstrator Course delivers a minimum of 7 hours of both classroom and practical instruction on to correctly carrying out the required tasks involved in the role of Demonstrator which is to familiarise operators with their responsibilities and demonstrate pre-operational and safe operating procedure and the limitations of MEWPs. All candidates wishing to attend the IPAF Demonstrator training course must have successfully passed the IPAF Operator Course prior to attending and hold a valid IPAF PAL Operator Card in the category that they wish to be trained to demonstrator level. Each candidate who wishes to be considered as a Demonstrator should have a reasonable knowledge of good site safety practice, be confident and a good communicator. Certification: Upon successfully passing both the written and practical assessments each candidate’s details will be entered on to the IPAF central database and an IPAF Certificate of Training and a IPAF PAL Card will be issued that is valid for 5 years. The PAL Card (Powered Access Licence) is recognised worldwide across industries as proof of platform operator training to the highest standard.
